Canon has just launched its latest entry level digital SLR camera, the Canon 500D. Following the success of last year's model, Canon EOS 450D, Canon seems to have come up trumps again. This new camera has many features previously only found on the mega-expensive professional Canon EOS 5D MKII, and it's amazing how Canon have packed in for an unbelievably low price.

For starters, a whopping 15.1-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor will be plenty big enough for any amateur photographer, with images being able to be printed with a fantastic quality up to A3 size, if desired.

For the first time ever, full High Definition (HD) video recording is available in this range of DSLR. This means that you can use your DSLR camera as a camcorder with the ability to capture high-definition video up to 4GB by continuing to shoot. With the ability to connect directly to a TV using an HDMI connection, you can watch your videos on the big screen quickly and easily.

450D, which is still a fantastic camera, had the ISO range to 1600. So for the replacement model, you can double to 3200 Furthermore, it is expandable to 12,800. Again, Canon incorporate their technologies further enhance the sound quality of the images in dimly lit scenes reduction.

3.4 fps continuous shooting, which means that you should be able to capture any item that can quickly move quickly and easily.
